Project space in Hochheim open on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023

16.10.2023

On Sunday, October 22nd, 2023, DavisKlemmGallery's project space will be open in the afternoon from 3 to 6 pm, so that those interested can take a closer look at Bean Finneran's sculpture.

The American artist Bean Finneran is currently showing at two locations in the Rhine-Main-Area: at DavisKlemmGallery's project space in Hochheim, Kirchstraße 4, and at the art association Bellevue Saal in Wiesbaden, Wilhelmstraße 32. Her sculptures are made of thousands of hand rolled and hand painted clay elements, that the artist refers to as "curves". Each "curve" is rolled, fired, fired again if a glaze is added, and then painted. Installing a sculpture is another step that is taken piece by piece, i.e. curve by curve, - a process that can take several days depending on the size of the sculpture.

Schwammlandschaften by malatsion

21.07.2023

During an 11-day artist residency, malatsion's new work "Schwammlandschaften" was created. Currently on view until July 30 in the exhibition TREIBHAUS 3 in the art project space "else!" in Münnerstadt (Lower Franconia). The installation on the 2 x 9.25 meter cultivation table represents a fictional landscape. Again, the focus is on the current theme of water: spongy landscapes contribute to the supply of vegetation by storing water, thus providing a cool humid climate. The industrial architecture in combination with malatsion's scientific-aesthetic approach is worth the trip!

Finissage at Kunstverein in Untergröningen on July 30th

20.07.2023

The exhibition "Glasshouse" at Kunstverein KISS e.V. (Kunst im Schloss) will end with a finissage on Sunday, July 30th, 2023, at 3 pm. What is this world we live in? Where does it come from, where is it going? This finely balanced yet fragile glass house in which everything is intertwined. The exhibition is a philosophical approach to the diversity of this great whole, which seems so endless, so finely tuned, remains so inexplicable and yet exists only for a time.
With works by Bean Finneran, Günter Beier, Katharina Gierlach and malatsion, among others.

We are grateful for the many memories we have with her - whether in Wiesbaden, Cologne or Forsbach. We remember very fondly her exhibition with us in the gallery in 2017 titled "No fighting on Christmas. The air-conditioned nightmare." Her art was fascinating, and so was her personality.
