In his works, the British sculptor and draughtsman Steve Johnson shows sections of everyday life from a special perspective. His "island" sculptures not only consist of buildings and city sections above ground, but also show the underground soil. This way of looking at things is irritating and exciting at the same time.

In his "Still lifes", Johnson portrays culinary stereotypes on broken dishes. The dishes, however, are not smashed on the floor like porcelain and glass, but neatly arranged on the shards. The appetite for the delicious food is lost in view of the sharp edges. A comment on Europe?
