Iván Navarro

Humour and the play with perspectives are the central elements of the works of Chilean artist Iván Navarro. He often uses mirrors, luminous glass tubes and other light sources as materials. His works are rich in variation but are similar in their way of surprising and playing with the viewer through optical irritation. These irritating elements are often created with very simple means: Letters in unusual size and composition, reflections into an endless string or dramatic staging through light.

He has exhibited regularly internationally in group and solo shows since 1996. His works are represented in numerous international private, as well as public collections. For example, at the Fonds National d'Art Contemporain in Paris and the Chile Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Santiago, Chile, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Art Collection of the New York Public Library, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Deoksugung, Seoul, South Korea.
