“Cat content” makes its way into the project space: ‘Electronic pets’, the title of Yawei Chen’s video installation, are presented on various television sets. Cute animal videos from the world of social media flicker simultaneously on screens of different sizes. What we are used to seeing on our own smartphones when watching reels and enjoying the calming effect of repetition is presented in concentrated form in the project space. Chen Yawei is a master student of Prof. Judith Samen at the Kunsthochschule Mainz.
