Micheko Galerie's guest exhibition at DavisKlemmGallery

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, we will open the exhibition “Micheko Galerie's guest exhibition at DavisKlemmGallery” from 3 to 6 p.m. Linda Traut, art historian, will give an introductory talk.

The Munich-based Micheko Gallery specializes in contemporary Japanese art. It will be showing three artistic positions at our gallery:
Kenichi Yokono (born 1972 in Ishikawa) focuses on themes of contemporary Japanese manga culture, using traditional woodblock printing techniques. Manga, anime, horror films, and other stereotypes of Japanese pop culture flow into his work.
Katsutoshi Yuasa (born 1978 in Tokyo) explores the nature of photography in printmaking. Ideas of seeing, perception, memory, and the indirect means of expression in printmaking are at the center of his work.
Keita Shigenobu (born in Tokyo in 1996) is a trained illustrator. Despite belonging to the digital generation, he is fascinated by woodblock printing. His works reflect a quiet intensity in which everyday objects, such as teacups or traffic cones, are placed with deliberate intention.
